Far above Rincon at the top of one of the 1000' high mountains, lies the La Cima restaurant. La Cima means "the top", and when you are there you feel like you are on top of the world. Outside on the deck, there are spectacular views of the Caribbean to the west, Mayaguez to the north, and the central mountains to the east. Inside is delicious Puerto Rican food. The food is good and the prices are reasonable, what more can you ask for? How about glorious sunsets?
The inside of the restaurant is unique. It is built into the side of the hill and the east wall is the exposed rock of the mountaintop. The La Cima menu includes an assortment of typical Puerto Rican appetizers such as cheese balls, fried pork, breaded and fried chicken, sorullitos (fried corn sticks), and plantain chips. The fish balls are battered nuggets of grouper that are deep fried. They are moist, tender, delicious morsels. All appetizers are served with the uibiquitos Puerto Rican dip, mayo ketchup. A Big Combination is a seletion of half a dozen or so appetizers on a large platter. A deal for $10. One platter, along with an order of fish balls, was more than enough appetizer for our party of eight.

The dinner selections include typical Puerto Rican fare, including mofongo, seafood, and steaks and pork chops with a choice of side dish. Entrees range from $6 to $12.
La Cima is located off route 411. If you're in the mood for some typical Puerto Rican cooking, take a drive up to the top, enjoy the view and have a great meal. |
